		<description>Hey Nathanial;

Very well written story! Consider, however, that the farm bill also proposes to increase from 16 million acres to 80 million acres the amount of land in the conservation program (formerly CRP). While this is a direct payment to help mitigate the damage caused by poor farming practices on errosive lands, it also provides some supurb upland habitat for a lot of wildlife (including sharptail grouse, deer, songbirds, etc.) Yes, it&#039;s a subsidy based on a voluntary buy-in from the farmer, but there is a huge upside in terms of reduced errosion into our waterways and increased wildlife.

thanks,
