Otter vetoes sole tax break repeal of session

Gov. C. L. “Butch” Otter vetoed the only tax break repeal to make it through the ‘08 Legislature. 5 percent tax break for business research nearly repealed, then near repeal vetoed. Otter channelling Bedke: “To withdraw this small but important incentive while at the same time providing personal property tax relief to help stimulate business growth and investment sends a confusing and troubling signal to those with the confidence and entrepreneurial spirit to tie their wagon to Idaho’s star.” Russell in the Spokesman.
